Homework for Nov 30

Hi guys,

As I told many of you today listening to music in English is a great way to improve your listening skills, pronunciation and vocabulary.
Check this link about this singer-songwriter from Bristol, UK, listen to his song (which sounds really cool, btw) and do the Preparation and the tasks below.

For more practice with present simple vs. continuous here's a video and plenty of examples and answers to many possible questions. Do the tasks below the explanations.

Tell you parents about the Parents Meetings which are scheduled for next Thursday 3rd December. On Monday I will give you the leaflets with the exact times they must come.

Hi guys,

Here's a nice text which answers the question: "Do we spend enough time truly by ourselves?". Read it, choose 5 new expressions/words (adjectives, phrasal verbs, collocations etc.) and make one sentences with each. For example: an out-going person. Bring them next time to class on a separate sheet of paper.

Firstly I would like to remind you of the UK QUIZ evening on Wednesday from 17.30-18.30! It's a great occasion for you to get to know my colleague, Saif, who was born in London and who will conduct the Quiz, learn more things about the UK and meet some other teens studying here at Giga!

For Thursday:

•  work on Vocab and Grammar Review Unit 1 p. 28
• check the new words from the text at p. 20 in an English-English dictionary and write the definition in your notebooks.

• make 3 sentences with 3 phrasal verbs from exercise 1 p. 21 and then eliminate the phrasal verb so that you can test your classmates next time :) For example:

I've phones a dozen times but I can't ________________ him. He seems to have disappeared! (get hold of)
